just got some fire xc's. it says they can be used for front and rear depending on installation direction, so for the front tire, the word front should be pointing toward the front of the bike, and for the back, the word rear should be facing the front of the bike, am i correct? so when standing on the left side of the bike, they should read like:

front:
<---front rear--->

rear:
<---rear front--->


please correct me if im wrong

Think of it this way: the arrows actually denote direction of rotation based on tyre position.

correct.the front arrow faces front on front tire and rear arrow faces front on rear tire when bike is right side up.try it upside down and it gets even more confusing

That's the "correct" way THEY advise you to run the tires. I have many, many times reversed the "advised" direction (especially on the rear) to make the tire work better for the conditions. Some will climb alot better when reversed.... Tire life may be reduced, but who cares? Use them in the direction YOU want to is the bottom line....(Unless you always want someone else telling you what you should do).

well, ive never ridden them before so i figured i would try them out by starting with the recommended installation. i may change them later
