Hey everyone ! I'm looking for links - good sites that carry on this simple living theme and offer ideas and advice or solutions for the simple living. Sure, this might have been posted before but maybe it can use an update - who knows, one of us might just find inspiration along the way. So post 'em if you got 'em !

Ken Kifer (http://www.kenkifer.com/) is probably the writer/scholar who best explains the connections between the bicycle and simple living. His website is large and valuable. There are pages on touring, commuting, and maintaining a bike, as well as humorous and informative essays.

For me, Thoreau's book Walden (http://www.kenkifer.com/Thoreau/) is the mother lode for simple living. You can read the whole book, along with on Ken Kifer's valuable commentary, online at Ken's posthumous website.

Ken died on his bike a few years ago. Fortunately, Joe Gardner (the founder of bikeforums) maintains the site.

My inspiration for trying transportational cycling was spending a week in this
city:

Watch during their rush hours and see the variety of non-car transport mixed with cars. They ride in the rain etc.

I rode from the Belgian border to Amsterdam one time. It was a great two day ride. What I couldn't get over were the cross-country bikepaths. Like having a freeway to myself. No riding next to traffic. :D
