I am getting ready to purchase a new bicycle helmet and I want to get the one with the absolute best ability to vent and keep my head cool. Has anyone seen a product review of this? if so, where? At present I'm leaning toward the Giro Boreas. Is there that much difference between it and the Helios? I am currently using a Specialized Pirhanna (sp) and it is not getting the job done during the sweltering summer days of Central Oklahoma. I am open to purchase Bell, Specialized or any other brand . I suffered a heat stroke once and this is very important to me. Thanks and keep your feet out of the spokes!

Sir

I know what you mean.

The new Selev (Alien and Millenium) helmets I have had many tell me are well ventilated.

Also another great one is the Briko Twinner. Very rare in the USA and we normally bring those in here.

I just retired my Limar F105 for a Limar 705. Basicly the same helmet. I also have a Trek helmet for my mountain bike. But there's no comparision to the Limar helmets. They are so light and comfortable. Very well ventalated. Iowa has humid summers and a well ventalated bucket is a must. BTW Nashbar has the 705 on sale for 40 bucks. Most other places they're 90-120 bucks. I payed 70 for the F105 many years ago. But both are worth every penny. Even if you pay full price.

Try on samples from the different brands. They are all shaped a little differently and many people find certain brands to fit the shape of their heads better than other brands.

This thread is 6 years old, PLEASE nobody else respond. Boreas helmets aren't even made anymore.
