Whats going on everybody? I have been cycling again for about 2 years and today I had the joy of helping my girlfriend buy her first new bicycle since childhood. She seems as excited as I am about getting back into the sport and for recreation fun as well.

Anyways, she was looking for a comfort/hybrid that she could use for a multitude of reason in addition to recreation riding, towpath commuting, around town commuting, and a few longer rides on nicer days.

This is what we brought home and we can wait to get out on it over the weekend.
Seeing that she's 5'9 and does not like the women's bike here is a new Men's Giant Sedona (medium)

Nice looking bike. If she likes to go on longer rides, might want to think about getting her On One Mary Bar or North Road Handlebar for a more ergo hand position.

Yes, I already explained the things that she will want to think about adjusting or upgrading when she gets more into the proper cycling positions. Her hire tires can as thin as 1-1.25" from the 1.85 they are at now. Her handlebar is COMPLETELY adjustable, both in height and and angle position.

The beauty of the frame is almost impossible to photograph. the top bar is hydro forged in to a flat surface on the top. It is quite nice looking. I think she is already totally diving into the cycling lifestyle and is as excited about riding and improving as I am.

That quill stem allows for both height and reach adjustment, but keep checking that the locking bolt doesnt come loose (perhaps loctite). For commuting and errands she should add a rear rack and a trunk bag.
