Road Cycling - Speedplays come with everything?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I order some speedplay X2's from performancebikes.com and i used the 20% off coupon :)
I was wondering if they come with everything i need. I have some Sidi Genius 4 shoes...and they come with all the adpaters for the cleats?

No, you need pedals and cleats.
You might need to supply the thread grease and pedal wrench. :)
And of course, a good bike to attach them to would come in handy.

Yeah... I was once screwing around with my pedals when they were off the bike and attached them to my shoes. Oops!

I got mine at Performance in thier store, for $9 or so...
Check the Speedplay web site for a discussion of shoe problems and adapters
needed for certain shoes. The pedals come with a set of cleats (or all of mine
did) and a bit of lube, and in retrospect a bit of plastic that was suppose to be
an adapter that fits into the end of the pedal to squirt grease into the bearings.
A few shoes need adapters to match the cleats to the soles, these are extra
cost. The pedals include several adapters that take care of most shoes however,
details on the web site. Steve
