Northern California - To runners or triathletes who hate the swim part...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

why don't you join me in some pain at this event on April 18th?

So far I've got my son's girlfriend signed up, but I need others.
BTW, it's my last chance to podium, because next year I'll be in an older age group where they're faster. That makes no sense and isn't fair in my opinion

It's kind of like cycling, but without the thousands of dollars of bling

....so what's the point then?... :lol:
Can you tag team? I don't mind the bike part but someone else will have to do the running part! LOL!

I'm doing the XTERRA tri they are hosting up there on 29 March. It's a tri, but with a MTB course rather than a road course. Since I like both road riding, tris and MTB's, I think it should be fun

running = terrible.
The swim part of a tri takes by far the least amount of time and is lowest impact to boot!

I'm doing the long version. The bike section (~13.5 miles) is basically flat with a few undulations. The run portions are a lot harder. Each are four miles of hilly dirt trails.

I'm planning on doing the short.
