From what I can tell, there are quite a few college students that participate here at BF. I am one of them.

It would be nice to go to one area to share/discuss ideas and experiences. Because time is so precious for any college student, it makes sense (to me at least). That way, we would not have to go to Commuting for one question, Utility for another, General, LCF, BFSSFG...

Sure, the search function could be utilized. However, not everyone is familiar with it, or it is down. (Last few times I used it, anyway.)

There may be a need, but I can't imagine that being in college is a big enough unifying factor to keep people from bouncing around to the other forums for their other specific interests anyway, so it is not likely to be a time saver. I think if anything you would find you would read the college forum, then bounce around to all of the other forums for your other specific interests anyway...

However, there is a part of me that thinks this is the seed of a good idea. There is at least as much potential for interesting topics and interactions in a forum based on college life as there are in several of the other forums already present.

The forum you're looking for is called the Road Forum .... 90% college kids over there!

It's an decent idea. I have thought about it several times. The problem is that the forum would probably just be a bunch of chatter about frat parties and football. I feel like college cyclists can find their niche in one of the other forums and communicate with each other through race reports, etc.

More like 90% middle aged guys with great jobs that let them ride a lot. I want to be like that when I grow up.

I guess what I had envisioned could be covered in Commuting. I was thinking about security strategies, what to do with gear while in class, that sort of thing.

I attend a community college. I had completely failed to consider what it would be like at a larger university. Those that live on campus could probably be just fine with bike and books. But there are those that live off campus that would have to put more thought into the logistics.
