With spring only a few weeks away, it may be high time for some renewed commitment. The following is my own personal mission statement. Feel free to post your own.

I plan to make a successful migration from the Clydesdale Forum over to the "1000 Mile Month" thread on the Long Distance Cycling forum over the next few months.

Continue to lose weight and improve overall fitness. Would like to complete a century and maybe start a century a month. Last year I did a few 20+ miles a 32 mile, then a 64 mile. This year I will work up to it smarter. I have also joined a local bike club and hopefully will be able to get involved in group rides.

I will ride at least 250 miles by the end of April.

OK, probably doesn't sound like much, but I'm getting back in the saddle after a long (too long) hiatus.

Hey Guys - cool a Mission Statement: I reserve the right to edit this!

Ride a Century every weekend this summer!
(Question can you do this and still have a good relationship? Maybe I shoudl limit this to twice a month?)

Hopefully the net effect will be I will lose more weight this summer.

Perhaps a mission statement:
Fall In Love, Make more friends and Have fun!

So true about the relationship part, my wife doesn't get angry. However I know that when i wake up on weekend mornings she may want me to do something else. Even though i'm usually back by 10:30, I think thats why she tolerates it.

Well, so far so good. I managed to ride a century on Saturday and then came back to do 40 more yesterday. So, total miles ridden thus far in March: slightly above 200.

I am not sure that I'll hit my thousand this month, but I should get up to at least 750.

Did not do as well this past week. Weather was bad, I was tired, blah, blah, blah...I only got in a 100 miles, putting me at 300 for the month.

This week is looking better, temps to be in the 50's & 60's. So, I expect to get my 200 to 250 in by Sunday.

175 this week. Better than last, but still way off the 250 per week I need to make 1000 per month.

Well...with 475 miles in the books for March, I'd say 600 is easily within range. My goal of 750 may be a pipe-dream.....
