Not sure about anywhere else, but here in the land of Bon Jovi and all-night diners, we're gonna have some nice weather this weekend.

I'm gonna ride to a friend's house on Satuday morning, to wrangle actors for the crew in a movie audition. (In other words, I'll be the guy who shouts "Next!" and order pizza.) If we can get tickets, we'll see Watchmen afterwards.

On sunday, Martha and I are gonna train for a tour (2 weeks and counting). One plan on the table is we ride up Sandy Hook with our touring rig - her with the new Navigator, me with the new handlebars on my old touring bike and the trailer. (This is gonna be her her first tour. Part of the deal is that I carry the stuff this time.) We're talking Pine Barrens, but thqat's probably for the weekend following.

What crazy adventures do y'all have planned? Keep in mind we lose an hour on Sunday.

I'll be riding with a few local folks on a all nighter. From Clerburn Texas on up to Mineral Wells and I get to ride over Cherry Pie Hill. Pie Yumm! Last I checked we have a high wind advisory as well as a severe storm advisory for late Saturday and Sunday AM.
I plan on being out there when we lose the hour. I always sleep through it so it'll be a new experience to instantly get an hour older while riding my bike in the middle of nowhere. :thumb:

I will be riding the hilly roads of Happy Valley, PA. Looking forward to the warm weather. May actually ride in the hills with the MTB on Sunday. I would like to get some mileage in and get working on my conditioning to go farther by May as I signed on to do a Metric Century outside of Quakertown, PA.

My wife said I was too rough on her last weekend (35 miles with wind after her not riding much so far this year) so we're taking it easy. Friday morning will be a 15 mile ride along our beaches and harbor w/ breakfast en route. Saturday will be a ride up the coast and I'll let my wife decide when to head back. We've got a lot going Sunday but I'll try to squeeze in an hour somewhere along the way to ride even if I have to go solo.

Seattle Int'l Randonneurs 100k Urban Populaire, plus some extra mileage to bring it up to a century.
I think it's supposed to snow/rain all day.

Around some reservoirs south of San Jose with the bike club. Probably ~40 miles, but the ride description is a little vague. I'll just be glad to ride in the sun for the first time in weeks.

Saturday, a 45 mile loop up into El Dorado Hills and Folsom. Includes about 2600 feet of climbing and grades to 18%. Sunday, a flat 60 miler, Capay Valley.

Through the "mountains" of Florida--400k starting 5 a.m. Saturday, and finishing (est.) 3 a.m. Sunday. Should be sunny, highs in the 70's, and the so-called mountains are just hills. Still, the longest ride I've ever attempted.

Saturday -- Dismal Swamp Canal Trail -- 16 mi out and back. Dead flat and almost dead straight.
I'll be in Time Trial mode. (I do have to keep an eye out for bears!)

Sunday -- Local LBS group ride from their shop in Red Mill Commons to Creeds store. B/C pace ride ~32 mi out and back. Once again, dead flat since we don't have any hills in southern VA Beach.

Two friends are joining me for a three day self supported tour ride. No plans where to camp, just ride until we think we want to stop. Not much cooking, mostly trying to find cafes. Looking forward to a good ride, but probably rain all day Sunday. That is OK. Two dry days is better than none.

Friday The Bee is off to do 3 Gap
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Short-3-Gap-Clockwise
(Weather should be between 44 at the start and 57 at the finish)

My first time climbing the Gaps - and I am a bit nervous, but pysched. The plan is to AVG 13 mph and for the group to wait at the top for the newbies (me). I never thoguth I would do this ride...so it's a big step for me. Gonna put my grown up bike pants on and go tackle the mountains!

Saturday and Sunday - No plan yet! Have to find one soon...Maybe Sunday anice ride on our local path.

We are looking tomorrow at +15℃ and sunny with a 40km/h wind tomorrow, might be time to give the outdoor bike, it's first spin for the year, might even wear shorts!!! :D Go figure Monday it was -15℃ and tomorrow we are expecting +15℃, that's a 30C difference in less then a week.

I'm gonna do my usual loop today and tomorrow. A 40 mile ride, low traffic area and pretty scenic. The temps will be awesome i just get tired of riding in 10-20mph winds.

None!!! Still have screwed up calf muscle and the roads are covered in sand and chemicals from the last snow. That and they are forecasting more snow for the weekend. OK, and that I don't have any free time this weekend. I overbooked myself again.

I don't know what my plans are yet. I had considered riding on a short camping tour, but the ground at any campsites that are open will be wet and soft from the thaw. I've contacted a poster on the Touring Forum about riding with him partway on his overnight trip from Philadelphia to Lancaster. But I'm sure I can come up with some sort of crazy adventure on my own. :)

It was finally nice enough to get outside! I had planned to ride 20 miles today on the bike trail...but with a 25-30mph wind, I couldn't go no more than 10 miles. It seemed like no matter which direction I was going the wind was right in my face. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Not sure about Saturday yet, since I always get together with my BFFs. But Sunday I'll likely head over to SART. I think I want a tailwind on the return this weekend, instead of the headwind I had last week.

One of my local bike shops is having a Demo Day (http://www.passiontrailbikes.com/articles/2009/02/22/our-3rd-anniversary-party-and-demo-days-march-7-8) this weekend. I'm signed up to test-ride a Specialized Pitch Pro mountain bike and a Specialized Tarmac SL2 road bike. I'm hoping the weather man got it right and there won't be any rain...

Just went on my first ride of the year. 15 miles in 20 mph winds. Started out cruddy, mashing the pedals and fighting it. Ended the ride with smooth pedal strokes, a decent rhythm and a bit of speed. Was very enjoyable. All in jeans and a t-shirt. 9 more rides and I am upgrading a bunch of stuff on the bike. Decided to make myself wait and also sort of "earn" the upgrades.

Hope everyone else got out and enjoyed a ride.

If you mean as far as the upgrades, I guess a "bunch" might be an overstatement. I'm replacing the single wall stock wheels, which means new tires, will also upgrade to 8 speed then and I am having the suspension fork replaced with a steel one. That should be plenty to make me happy with the ride.

Nice job on the 100 miles, planning on doing my first century this year, maybe a few if all goes well.

I think I'll be on the trainer, for at least another month or so....... My wife seems to be enjoying coming up with ways of spending my bike time doing other things, so the last couple of weekends I have gotten in no ride time at all, not even on the trainer, today she wants to go downtown for a bit, why do I have a feeling this will turn into an all day thing.

Her coming up with reasons to not ride, is okay with me, her coming up for reasons for me not to ride is something else. :notamused:

Left the house at 6:30 this morning, 59 degrees. Rode a 14 mile loop out in the country and back. This was my second ride since breaking my ribs last month. I bit off more then I should have. At about 10 miles the ribs started screaming:cry: I absolutely could not stand and pump. The pain would fire through me. Spinning was the key to making it home.

I am loving the Peace 9R:thumb: I rode today without clipless, and I have made the decision to change to platforms and I am going to try the compromise of Power Grips. I had a ball riding today and not worrying about unclipping at stops, crossings and near slow traffic. I just rode. Since breaking the ribs I don't know if I can enjoy riding the clipless again. This was an injury that had some pretty serious effect on me, and I do not want to go back. My name is Jay, and I am a clipless wiener:(

Nothing crazy, just a ride to my gym and back, and perhaps down the trail to Valley Forge. But that's 26 or so miles. And the return leg at night - working second shift made me a night owl.

I did 30 miles today on the bike paths in Santa Clarita. It was 66-70 degrees, very sunny and nice. I followed a guy for about 3 miles, I was 60 feet behind him, he slowed and we talked, he was on his first ride of the year, had a nice chat. Now that I converted from flat bars to dropped bars, not only am I faster and more comfortable, but I am no longer shunned and ridiculed by roadies! :):):)

Hills, hills, and more hills (at least Texas stlye).

Weather held up really nicely this weekend. Saturday was a 33 mile loop near huntsville, and today was just an all round fantastic ride.

Montogmery, TX (near lake conroe) for 47 miles through a national forest. Picturesque and pleasant, just a perfect day for riding.
