Folding Bikes - D7HG gear inches changed?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The Dahon site used to say something like 34-82, but it's now at 41-78 or something. A year old thread in the Dahon forum notes the wider spread, too. What changed?
The new site had may errors. Check it out for yourself using Sheldon Brown's gear calc.

Actually the website says 42-78 for 2009 and 34-84 for 2008. Nevertheless, I'm glad that you caught this b/c the Vitesse D7HG is on my radar screen at the moment and I was focused on the change in reach (620-640 for 2008 & 610-635 for 2009). It doesn't appear that the frame/handlepost has changed, so why the difference?

My LBS has some '08 Curves, and I think I might be able to get them to stretch out the discount they were offering in Feb. Rather than trying to track down an '08 D7HG, I guess I'll go w/ the curve, since I'll truly only be using it for bike/train commuting, not for plane travel/touring or anything else. Now that I'm not in NYC, I don't need a do-it-all folder....
And I fit on the curve! At six foot four!

I looked at the 2008 archive on the Dahon site, and saw that the Vitesse D3 was 41-77. I'm guessing that they accidentally entered those in, rather than there being any change to the hub itself. Nothing else would indicate that anything changed in the production run.
