I thought I'd been here long enough to figure out that the ****head posts and facepalm moments happened during the off-season when people were spending so little time on their bikes they had to fill the void by creating stupid threads on internet forums.

But here we are on the cusp of spring and the level of stupidity has erupted.

What gives? :twitchy:

The stupidity level is increasing in rc, but not really here in rbr...

People are just starting to get back on their bikes as much of the country thaws out.

it's March 6th. We are approaching the first Full Moon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_moon) in March (http://www.moonphases.info/full_moon_calendar_dates.html). All these Bored Snowbound Roadies are chomping at the bit to go ride; And Old man Winter socks them with another 10" of snow, keeping them on the trainers for another week.

you're too young, and have been at this sport for too short a time, to be so self righteous.

now shut up, and get off my stoop.

Just wait. I'm weening off the pain meds. There should be some "real" dumb **** posting soon. Not just the usual dumb **** I post.

Obviously I don't spend enough time here on BF, because I have no idea of the idiocy that you speak of.

I suppose I shouldn't be outside riding as much as I am, then maybe I'd be able to keep up on the daily goings-on.

Did I miss something particularly stupid? The recent stupidity level seems to be about normal for BF.

Are we referring to the incessant, overblown, nauseating cat5 threads?

It was fun spinning out on the trail today. You had the roadies that were going to/from someplace that had been training all winter in bibs/short sleeves. Then you had the "thawed" roadies that haven't trained all winter in leg warmers, arm warmers and occasionally wind breakers.

And it was 65° at 9AM. Fun fun

It's increased a little bit...

Yeah, I think that's it.

Yeah, this morning I thought it was pretty nice and warm here, but on a ride the guy next to me asks if I am impervious to cold... :p

Perhaps it's best to inquire directly from the source. What say you, Pcad?

Arm and leg warmers at 65 degrees? Certain Southern Californians have no clue. I would be in bibs and short sleeves, for sure, possibly as low as 62 or so.

I deliberately avoided the trail today.

has nothing to do with having a clue, or being a socal wussy.

i wear (light) arm warmers at 18°C, and usually have knee warmers as well.

Today was a nice reprive from winter. I exposed as much skin to it as was socially (and practically) appropriate.

Yeah, the weather was wonderful during the race today. Really nice change from last weekend - cold, rainy, nasty.

This temporary warmth is just excellent. I rode with no layers in 53 deg weather, and it felt great.

NO GLOVES.

Amazing.

I wear knee warmers down to about 65. Today it was 67 and I was in a typical short sleeved kit and knee warmers. My tendinitis thanks me.

I was happy not to wear a balaclava. -4 C...spring is coming!
