So can anyone describe the action at the finish in what I'm reading was a fairly dramatic sprint? McEwen switches sides of the road during the sprint? Was he on the front or in a gap when he did this? Petacchi was PO'd. Robbie's starting to look like a desperate man.

Cipo gets fined for wearing an unauthorized skin suit but no fine reported for McEwen yet.

Robbie must be taking sprint lessons from Abdoujaparov.

I think that McEwen was the one who was squeezed out
Or was it Cipollini?

Cipo was boxed in a bit and didn't end up contesting the sprint. McEwen had managed to get ahead a bit just before the line and then cut across the road in front of Petacchi, which is why he was annoyed. McEwen ended up coming in 4th I think and they didn't bother fining him.

The Fasso team controlled the last 2 kms quite well. McEwen got into the FB train and started before Petacchi but, when you remove the drama, Petacchi waxed him.

Petacchi may be a specialist but he's a real good one.

Isn't that a point of pride with him? A couple of years ago, he had an unauthorized suit that looked like an anatomical picture of the body's muscles. He even got fined in Georgia for wearing unapproved kit. It's part of cipo's schtick.

Es Verdad. How do you say "I'm outrageous!" in Italian?

For sure...Petacchi just hammered by him. It was like he was on cruise control until the last 50 meters or so and then he kicked it into another gear and he just rode by McEwen...

I was watching the race off and on for the 30 minutes of coverage. It looked like there was a rider way out in front of the group in first then the next moment it was the mad sprint to the end. I thought the leader was from Columbia? Who was it and what happened to him? Or was he someone else and I misunderstood what little comentary I could hear over my children's non-stop argueing Sunday.

Thanks

Thanks, I guess he finished 58th. I was looking strong for a while I guess he ran out of gas.

I'm so bummed that TLN (telelatino) isn't showing any giro coverage this year! They did last year, one hour a night. However, no weekends which meant missing the big mountain stages. SO it's live audio on eurosport.
