sitting pretty at 138lbs (62.6kg) right now, a bit over 5'10" tall.

I want to see a big eWang list. Someone should start an eWang thread. eWang claims must be backed up with graphage, and normalized power does NOT count for FTP.

Ok, let's do this. Anyone who's offended by wangs, go find another thread.

Let's stick with this season's wangs, not all-time-best wangs, unless you clearly present it as yer bestest evar.

Guidelines:
Profile - highlight your W/kg
Supporting graphs - set a gridline at the averages
FTP - if you don't have a 60' test, then explain which of the 6 other deadly sins you used to estimate it

Ok, here it is. I used Monod with the 5' and 19' tests to come up with 338W FTP. I wish it was higher, but the more long intervals I do, the more that looks like the number.

77.6kg this morning (and for the tests below)

None of us are pros (that I know of), so none of us should expect to have proWangs

Here is mine I just finished 20 min. ago on the rollers. Don't laugh, thanks.
Entire workout (253 watts):
Duration: 19:58
Work: 303 kJ
TSS: 37.4 (intensity factor 1.06)
Norm Power: 254
VI: 1.01
Pw:HR: -5.25%
Pa:HR: -3.07%
Distance: 9.944 mi
Min Max Avg
Power: 188 338 253 watts
Heart Rate: 135 169 158 bpm
Cadence: 88 116 98 rpm
Speed: 23.8 36.4 29.9 mph
Pace 1:39 2:31 2:00 min/mi
Hub Torque: 51 64 56 lb-in
Crank Torque: 176 252 218 lb-in
http://images.geekazoids.net/ftptest.jpg

Given the deadly sin that a 20 min. test equals FTP=95% of avg power, I'm right at 240W for FTP.
At 86kg this puts my fat ass at 2.8W/kg.

I will be doing some testing soon...

Started base training a couple weeks ago after doing strength all winter...

First race is not until end of June so I got a ways to go...

I do feel stronger even if the numbers don't say yet...

I did 10 sec spin ups yesterday and was just below my PB 5 sec power last year, still eWang "Untrained" ( I ain't no sprinter)...

I am going to some 5 min hillclimb repeats today and will get back to this thread...

I hope to see some good numbers after I hack out a lung...

I aint got no charts so insert grain of salt/seeds of doubt:

these are all from this season:

CP120: 3.56
FTP: 4.22
CP20': 4.48
CP5': 5.2
CP1: dunno... aint tested since last year (9.19 was best from last season)
CP5": 16.1 (HAHAHAHA, first sprints in 6 months, yesterday)

All I've done is VO2 intervals or longer, so low end power really is a huge limiter now. I'm hoping to adress that in the nest 6 weeks.

Here is my profile from WKO. I'll post the graphs for each "best" when I have some more time. I have my FTP at 300 right now. I had done a monod test about a month ago that put me at 290 but recently from workouts, etc. it was clear I had to bump it up. I've done several 20 minute intervals at > 300 and did 90 min at 300 NP last week. The FT bar is fairly low because I don't do hour long TT's :p

I DIY for two reasons:
-It's easier for me to see the history my way
-I don't do 60' tests, so FTP is way off and doesn't track over time

I haven't done much of any testing this season except for 1 minute. My FTP is approx 300-305 watts based on interval sessions and racing numbers. At 65kg that puts me at about 4.6-4.7 w/kg.

With no scientific backing to this, I'm sure it's a tad above 3 W/kg.

WR - something seems wrong with the scaling of your chart - compare 20 min to FT. Anyway, I've never done specific tests for 1min or 5 min so I won't whip it out here.

20': 4.63 W/kg
60': ~4.35 W/kg

That sounds about right to me (looking at my first charts above). The profile from WKO shows my best 60' MMP, which I've never tested, so it's a lot lower.

MtnRide
03-08-09, 01:09 PM
I mean that 3.88 W/kg for 20 min is cat 2, while you need 4.35 W/kg for FTP to get to the same level - I don't know many people that can do less for 20 min :)

UMD - how dou you DIY the eWang Chart?

I started off 2009 with a huge 2.01 w/kg FTP

After yesterday's ride it is now.... drum roll while I dig out the calculator.....

3.02

Woo Hoo!

20 mins - 3.18
5 mins - 3.77
1 min - a shocking 5.27. This needs retesting as that figure was gleaned from one month ago and during that minute I had to brake for a woman in a car pulling out in front of me...
5 seconds - 11.33

I'm currently 93kg.

On that chart that Waterrockets has I am right in the middle of [Very Good] for FT. I don't own a power meter so that's all I know.

i don't have a program that doesn't automatically do NP?...what do i do?

If you are using poweragent or something like that you can export the data as a csv file so excel or whatever you like can open it. Then drop the first 30 seconds of data and then compute averages for every 30 seconds of data you have, that is fancily referred to as a moving average. Once you have that raise all of those averages to the 4th power and then take the average of all of those 30 second averages to the 4th power. Finally take the 4th root of the last average you computed. Viola normalized power

On a side note I am not convinced that this is the way to filter out the stochastic nature of power. I think there are much better ways to do this than normalized power, but I need to work on it some more. I have never cared for stats and probabilities that much, but power data may be giving me a reason to care.

Ha, I guess since I called for it I have to play :)

For this season only:

5s: 1287 - 20.55w/kg
1m: 603 - 9.46 w/kg
5m: 358 - 5.72 w/kg
FT: 302 - 4.79 w/kg

5s is lower than PR by a bunch, 1m is very close, 5m is within 2w of PR. FT is very close as well. I haven't done any short testing in a while so 5s, 1m, and 5m are all plucked from the middle of races or training rides.
FT calculated as average between MAP test and Monod. MAP comes out higher for some reason.

I really need to do a 1' test that's not part of another test. Not guessing it will be substantially higher but I'd like to see 600W for 60s. Personal bests are:

Well for the sake of measuring (and these things never hurt when you weigh 135lbs) though this includes the off-season, I haven't done anything above FTP this season 'cept for racing this weekend.

5s-16.29w/kg
1 min-9.07w/kg
5 min-6.09w/kg
20 min-5.18w/kg
FTP 4.93w/kg estimated (WKO says 4.21w/kg actual)

I am praying my sprint returns back to what it was when I was 145 pre-injury.

I suck at sprinting. And I've never officially tested my 5 min power, that was from a race this weekend.
