After struggling through these last few months of winter... ridin my bike when I could, but not doing crap really otherwise.

so I ended up getting me and the wifey a membership to a local gym using a discount throught the employer's discount (ALWAYS nice...).
Anyway... met with the trainer today for a complimentry training session and setting up a workout plan.

This could have been worse, but I was happy to find out that he was tri-athalete. He had just returned from a morning bike ride. I told him I wish I had known they just did a ride, I would have joined them.

So hopefully, not only does my new gym have a great fitness workout setup, but also a group of cycling folks that I can make friends with. Woo?

btw... the training was about 1 hour of hell. It was awesome though! Sore as hell now, but can't wait to go back.

Oh well, time to go mash some pedals (sore or not!)

Just started hitting the gym again, 3 days a week. Daughter is trying to get back into shape but she wants to pump iron, no machines. After weights for 30 minutes, we do lots of abs! Then long rides on the weekends (40-60miles) and a couple of climbing rides during the week:D

Stairmaster..Fitness factory in Kenmore NY.
Started with level 2/3 and about 20 min.
Finished a double 45 min session at level 6 the other day.
Now, I'm not sure how well this will help keeping up with the A boys cycling this year but I blew by several of the fast crowd on the snowshoe trails down at the EC Forest a few weeks back and while everyone else was whining about sore muscles afterword, I went back for a second run.

I been going to the YMCA since Oct and down 30 lbs now. I have been riding my bike there as well when the temps are too cool at night. Good luck.
