A poprad

Here is my girlfriends Poprad. I've talked a lot about it in this forum so I thought I would share a pic. Besides no one has said much about cross lately so I thought I would lite up the little lightbulb for you :) She has it set up for the road now.

Nice Bike! : ) How's she like it? Any initial reactions?

I just got one yesterday!!!

I'm 5'9" around 155 lbs, I got a 52cm and it fits great.. Rides nice, its fast on the street, controllable in the slow stuff even with one hand. Brakes and shifting are nice so far. Biggest thing I notice is that the aluminum fork flexes like crazy. Under heavy braking there is quite a shuddering feeling as the fork oscillates. I know that alum has a definite life span as it flexes and work hardens/fatigues, hopefully this wont be a problem in the future.
BUT
Brakes squeal alot (maybe this will end as the pads/rims adjust to eachother?)
AND
Wish I had a triple. .

Great bike out of the box so far, Ill keep you all posted as I rack up the miles!!!

Nice looking bike - I love the updated graphics.

Do the newer ones come with an aluminum fork? That's news. Why would they change from steel?

Yes she is liking it. She had it set up with a triple for touring purposes with the intent of single ring in the front for cross racing next season. It's a very versatile bike. And yes the breaks do squeek. Mabey they need to 'break' in?

yea I just read in the manual that it is AL fork and was kind of surprised. I guess it is a weight savings issue. It looks pretty strong though. I don't think flex will be to much of an issue with her at her weight and all

Brakes are squeeking because it's new - both the pads and the wheels. Once the pads have a chance to lay down some rubber, they should quiet down.
