Bicycle Mechanics - greasy brush

Hi--
Pretty basic question. When I clean my bike with degreaser the brush gets greasy really fast and starts spreading the black stuff around instead of taking it off. My solution is to keep using a new brush--I can go thru a couple of toothbrushes in the course of 1 cleaning. What do other people do?

Clean the brush, use new solution.

Speaking of degreasing... what does one do with old solution? I have
some stuff that is "biodegradable" -- does that mean it is safe to toss
down a drain? The instructions also say "Dispose of in an environmentally
friendly manner" -- but they don't offer any hints as to what that is.
can you put oil down a drain? (i always wondered that... specially since it is supposedly acceptable to put antifreeze down them. sanitary sewer drains that is).
I put on some cheap surgical gloves and use 1/2 a bounty as a rag. It's heafty enough not to tear apart and scrubs pretty good, plus it's throw away and cheap.
