so like i've said before i'm new to the fixie thing. I've been riding about 2 weeks now, having a great time and learning as i go.
i posted here about a week ago about how to skid. you're advice worked. i started to figure it out.
then about the 3rd time i got the skid right, it felt like my pedals stopped by my wheel didn't. i thought maybe i was just confused to the new sensation of fixed riding, so i kept trying it out.. then it would feel like i was skidding the tire when i would start from a stop.. very odd. something didn't seem right.
then one more skid and i found the problem.. something popped off my rear hub. a little ring. now the hub is essentially broken. if i walk the bike, the pedals turn with the wheel, but the slightest resistance to the pedals and the rear wheel will spin freely.
i think there could be a couple of reasons.. one, it coulda been a defective hub
two. this one is more likely. i got a flat tire about a week ago, so i took the tire off and patched it up. i hadn't really rode the bike since then, because i was bogged with work. so this was the first time riding it since i put the wheel back on. is it possible i put the wheel to far back and made the chain tension to strong? then the torque would be too much for the hub?
give me some opinions. i was careful about the tension.. i thought it was good. i guess i'll just ahve to flip it over and ride the freewheel until i get it fixed
