Just saw the end of the auction for a 1987 Trek 400, it went for $455 + $47 shipping. Am I missing something? For that price you can almost get a Trek 720 or Miyata 1000. Enlight me plz, what so special about a Trek 400? Link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=290299889889)

It's not the Trek 400, it's the Reynolds 531 frame with index shifters and aero brakes and the Trek name. Old Trek steel has a great reputation.

Price is insane. Thats the power of ebay. Sometimes a Schwinn Supersport with a bent fork will go for $1100, other times a nice clean Supersport will go for $100. Seller got real lucky on that one. He did an excellent job on presentation.

As far as getting a Miyata 1000 or a Trek 720 for that price, if you can do it, load up. Those bikes have been going for a lot more than that.

What were the major differences between the 87 and 86. I think mine is an 86. I bought mine to convert to a fixed wheel. I might have to soap her up and put her on the bay LOL. That would pay for the TT Pro I was wanting to get.
