Road Cycling - how many bikes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

See, you need a couple more. Save all of your spare parts so you can build at least one up from your own parts bin.

Too easy to $ell the parts on eBay! Makes upgrading so much more cost effective compared to the "old days"!

One road. One mountain. Looking to possibly add a second road (keeping fingers crossed).

About a year ago, there was an extensive poll on this subject, but I can't find it as the search engine rejects words such as "how" and "many". You might get some good info there.
Anyway, we currently have 7 in the garage - 3 road, 1 hybrid, 2 mtn, 1 3-wheeler.

I have two road bikes, my parents have a hybrid each, my brother has a mountain bike, and we also have some really old Bianchi we need to throw out.

Road: carbon, ti, (they are hard to choose between), and aluminum that collects dust very well; have a FS mountain bike = (urban tank) but a blast, and a city bike. And have been trying out track bikes; want one.

I have my 02 Bianchi Giro, My old school Bianchi Brava, My old school Bianchi TT funny bike, a very old heavy schwinn tandem and am thinking of getting a Bianchi Virata and a Bianchi Pista... And when I have the last two I will still want a Bianchi L'una.
In the house we have all my bikes I already mentioned and then my sons 02 Bianchi Giro, A Nishiki TT funny bike we are building, and my wifes Bianchi Milano and her Mongoose saint, so we have a total of 8 bikes all thru out the house... you can never have too many bikes :D

I think steel is great, I have a ritchey, paramount track, and a davidson tandem in steel. But CF is best for the long distance rides and the new salsa is setup for climbing. I'll wait a year before talking the wife into letting me have a cross bike.

i have two track bikes (an old lotus sprint, and a vantuyl pursuit, complete with 650c front wheel), my road bike (old steel pinarello with '03 black 105 and FSA 'cross cranks), a bmx (terrible one barcode with all the fancy bmx ecoutremont), a trials (old aluminum ross glen canyon set up for trials, tiny gearing, bashguard, super grippy trials specific tires, weird, wide bars...etc.), an old monark singlespeed frame that still requires some work, my older BMX that is still in boston, in my friend's parents' basement, my first single speed (a motobecane mixte, at my parent's house in illinois), my girlfriend's two bikes, a lotus mixte and an old murray cruiser.
so...between her an i, we have....
10 bikes.
my friend in boston has 40 bikes.
Two road bikes, one aluminum (my fast bike) and one CF (my very fast bike :)). I'm looking for a used hardtail mtb for bombing around Tahoe and maybe pulling a trailer to the ice cream shop.

Two road bikes, a beater bike, a mountain bike and a tandem. My wife has a couple of hybreds to add and we have a "guest" bike. Right now my sons full suspension mountain bikes are also gracing the shop in my basement so that adds up to ten. I've got a hankering for a fixed gear as soon as I find a suitable frame to cobble up.

SIX! :D ;) :)
Good steel bike for dry, flat days.
Reasonable aluminium Specialized for drizzling days.
Light but very uncomfy Dedacciai 7003 alu for hill days.
Old steel 531 for commuting in running shoes.
Older steel 531 covered with mud-guards for slushys days
Very old Tange bike is my "milk bar" bike.

Cannondale R500 - stiff & fast!
Motobecane Super Touring - classic tourning bike
Diamondback MTn Bike- weighs a gazillion pounds!
I keep it simple and cheap with just 2 bikes, one road and one mountain.
