i searched the bmx section and couldn't find anything. i guess i thought that bmx bikes would have different maintenance requirements compared to road bikes or mountain bikes.

Ditto^ I ran the same basic 1/8" chain for 3 years before finnaly switching to my new 710sl.

I love my 710SL chain. This is my second one. The other on was on my old bike and I don't remember what happened to it. Never had problems with it though.
