Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm in the market for a new BB and Crankset for my fixed. Can anyone recommend a good setup for single speed. Splined or square taper, no matter. I'm not trying to break the bank on this either so keep that in mind. :D

If your frame is spaced 120mm then a track crank and BB like the Sugino 75 is a good setup. It's worked well for me. If it's 126 mm (or more) or money is tight then a Bulletproof (AKA Dimension) crank is cheap and strong. The taper is square (JIS I belive). You'll need to find a BB with a spindle length that will give you the correct chainline. I think Sheldon Brown has a BB database on his site somewhere with chainline info for lots of BB's.
