Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Wanna buy a Hand-Made track frame

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I sold my bianchi pista.
Now I plan to have one hand-made track frame, and my budget is around usd500-1000
I have checked the GeekHouse frame, what do you guys think about this?
I would like to know your suggestion on other brand as well.
thanks

Marinoni Pista. MSRP is $695, and you have custom options for an extra $150.

I would honestly be very surprised if you could find a comparable bike at that price. I was considering getting one myself, but decided to save my pennies for a surly cross-check frame instead (Toronto weather is a *****).

in all honesty if you're going custom and have a $1k budget, don't get a geekhouse, though they're nice, i just don't think they're worth the money, and i think there are plenty of other frame builders out there. wasn't there some guy that made track frames custom for around $500? he was the youngster that did it jigless...can't remember who he was but someone made a thread about him and his stuff seemed pretty nice.

if he was looking for the "actual track", he probably wouldn't be considering spending $700 on a steel frame.

just find something nice that's used. that way you can resell it and get your money back if you don't overpay or crash it.

Blog called cycloculture (http://www.cycloculture.com/) ran a piece about a frame maker named Allan Wanta (http://wantaframes.com/). Mentioned something about $850 for custom frames, which fits the budget you mentioned. No affiliation or any idea if he's any good.
Thank you for all of you guy's advices
