Because of the heat here in AZ I have been getting up earlier to avoid it and have been pushing the miles up and up. Well Im getting (got) some saddle sores. I just cant sit on my saddle for more than 20 miles or so, anything more and I am sliding all over trying to get comfortable. Ive been sliding so much I actually wore a hole in the butt of one of my pairs of bibs. I have never been real happy with the stock saddle, selle italia xo geniune gel or something like that. I have been heavily looking into the fizik arione since I heard that if you shift around a lot the arione is great, whereas the aliante is perfect if you get in one position and want to be comfortable in it for a long time. I slide around a lot regardless of pain because when I am climbing I slide back, cruising in the middle of the saddle, or just trying to go fast I get on the tip. Anyone have experience with the arione in terms of using the whole saddle? How about in terms of fit for a light guy with not a whole lot of 'personal padding'? My sit bones, I assume thats what they are, always feel like they are straddling the saddle and contributing to the pain down below. I use plenty of chamois butt'r so its not chafing. Thanks for any input

I have about 1000mi on my Arione saddle. I had a Terry Fly Gel before which wasn't bad but got uncomfortable after an hour or so. I am real happy with the Arione, so far, and can ride 2 plus hours without pain. It really is true that you can move around on the saddle (I had doubts like you at first). I run the saddle level and the quality of workmanship is tops. Good tush luck.
