Hi,

So I bought a new old bike this weekend and I thought I checked it pretty good during the purchase. Maybe I could have been a bit more thorough. This afternoon I was riding to the library and I looked down and saw what looked like a small dent. I ran my fingers across it and sure enough...it runs in a semicircle around the stay. Maybe the result of some clamp on reflector?

Anyway is this something that I should be concerned about? Did I just buy a lemon? I'm attaching pics. You'll notice in shaded sunlight it barely shows up... Oh and if it makes any difference the frame is steel. Thanks for any help or insight.

Put some red electrical tape on it.

I would say it's probably O.K. I've seen frames with damage worse than that be riden thousands more miles no problem.

I would check the frames alignment... just to be safe.

If that checks out I would not worry too much as the probability of that tube failing is slim.

Steel can take some pretty solid hits.
