well.. yesterday i went out with a friend and he was smoking... the cigarette smoke was just too nasty. even though we were outside.. but the second hand smoke was just a killer. for some reason i am very allergic to cigarette smoke now. i use to smoke for close to 10 yrs and last october i quit cold turkey. anyhoo... since then... i've been trying to get into shape.. eat right, work out and take multi-vitamins as well. for some reason, since i quit smoking.. i've been getting sick more often then i was before. is that normal?

well, back to the story... the smoke made me sick... gave me allergies... and then late last night.. i started to have this nasty dry cough. didn't think much... but boy was i wrong. i woke up this morning eager to ride my bike... only to find myself crawling out of bed... i felt sick. i was coughing so much and so hard... it was like my lung is about to implode. yup! smoking is bad for you boys and girls!!!

anyway... i started to have chills... but still went to work cuz UPS man suppose to deliver my Syntace C2 bar... which didn't come till around 5pm. so i didn't get my C2 bar... i left work around 12:30pm cuz i was just too sick to work... barely got home in one piece. went to be feeling cold and sweating.. took some medicine and later a hot bath made me feel better.

but seeing those people ride their bikes made me cry... i wish i could be riding too... but instead i'm stuck with a fever, allergy (allergic to cig smoke and dust) and dry hacking cough. i thought quitting smoking is suppose to be good for you.. i'm going to check with my doc to see what's up.

anyhoo... just wanted to complain about my day... and that i'm sick again for the third time this year... doctors said i'm perfectly healthy.. yet i keep getting sick.. why is that?

How much were you working out before? Could be that your body just needs a little time to adjust to a big change. Are you getting enough sleep? Trying to maintain an active lifestyle on not enough sleep can cause problems (believe me, I know!). Also, how sick are you actually getting? Are all the illnesses the same as the one you described? I've had a bit of a cold myself recently that's probably hung on for longer than it really should have. The thing was, it wasn't bad enough to stop me from doing, well, anything really.

Man, that's tough. Definitely see a doctor. And get better soon.

i went to see my kaiser family doctor today.. he said i have the allergies.. but that doesn't explain why i have a 110 degree fever plus my hip bone and joints are in pain. i thought i have the flu.. but doc said nah. anyhoo.. took some ibuprofin to drop the fever.

well, i wasn't working out a lot before. just since i've quit smoking, i've been a health nut. changed my diet and everything. i've been getting at least 7hrs of sleep. i think that's enough right? now i'm really sick... got a fever, my hip bone felt like someone is constantly trying to get some bone marrow out of me.. it's one of the deep pains.. plus joints hurts.. i think i got the flu...

Please tell me that you meant a 101* fever - not 110*. You probably do have allergies but they will not cause a fever. You were most likely getting sick lastnight, while out with your friend. His smoking just bothered you more than ususal due to becoming ill. If you are still running a fever your joints will ache. That is the rule. There is no getting around it. Take some ibuprofen and lots of liquids, get some sleep and stay home from work tomorrow. Why infect everyone at work? If you have a fever stay home.

nope... i hit 110, passed out.. my roommate heard me fall on the floor.. dragged me into the shower and turn on COLD water. after 15mins of cold water, i kinda regain consciousness.. and he took me to the docter. last night.. i had fever again.. but this time it's much better.. it stayed between 102 - 103. it got to a point where my face looks soo red like i was drunk... so this time i jumped in the shower and took a cold one again. then after a couple hours later.. temp dropped to 100 degree, took some ibuprofin and ate some ice cream and went to bed. this morning. temp is 98.9... feel a little better.. but still kinda spaced out.

Maybe this is a signal that it is ridiculous to put aero bars on a hybrid.

You're gonna feel like crap for a while until your body gets used to not smoking. All the craap that you put in for the last ten years is going to come out. I went throught the same kinda withdrawl for a while, minus the fever. Keep it up though, you wont regret it. I been of the tabacco for about 4 years and I fell great.

I also have the alergies, but this year I've been getting the alergy shots once a week since January. It has helped ALOT. I feel much better. Plus, it gives me an exuse to ride my bike to the doctors office every week and to get out of the house. After the first few needles, you get used to them. Hope that helps.

yeah i know what you mean. after i quit smoking.. i went into withdrawl.. and started coughing up some yucky stuffs. i only smoke those expensive davidoff cigarettes... so i guess that's much cleaner than marlboros. my friend who smoked marlboros... cough up black stuff... gross! anyway.. i'm still trying to recover from this flu/allergy thingy... so hopefully so i can go put my syntace bar on.. and go for a ride.
