Bicycle Mechanics - Rim Tape - Tricks to take off?

I have this red rim tape on my wheel that I want to take off. It has the words "Action" on it if that's the brand name. Anyways I've sprayed a lot of WD-40 on it hoping that would weaken the glue but it's still really stuck in there. Can I get some help/tricks/ideas?

There should be some overlap near the valve stem (if the tape is really adhesive tape). Worry up a corner of the tape with a box cutter and then grab it with a pair of pliers. If the tape is a fabric tape, it should have enough strength to not break and peel right off. If it's a plastic tape, it may break as you pull. You'll just have to repeat the above as necessary. It could be a lot of work.

If you are trying to get the tape off to get access to the spokes and the job becomes too frustrating, use the box cutter around the spoke eyelets and remove the material. You can always use another tape on top of this one. Velox is my favorite.

I got all my stickers and stripes off by using a heat gun. It's just a really juiced up - though VERY HOT hair dryer. Took the tires off the rims, zapped the stickers with some heat for a few seconds, and voila'. Nothing left to do but brush off the flakes and wipe away a little residual adhesive.

I would second the use of a heat gun.

That's my choice as well. Easy to remove, if needed, to adjust spokes. Lasts decades.
