I tried to ride from Roosendaal (Holland) to Brussels one day using the numbered bike network system. Discovered too late that on the Belgian side of the border, there aren't maps of the network at the junctions. Got a bit sidetracked and spent 5 hours doing what should have been a 80km ride. Head down and hammering into a headwind for the final 30 km on a highway shoulder. Trying to not be too late for a dinner date. Have no idea how far or exactly where I went as my computer malfunctioned after the downpour.
Summary: the 2nd best country for cyclists I've experienced so far.
