Awhile back there was a local community that had painted on one of it's roadways a sign saying no cyclists allowed or something. Down south...OC or one of the beaches.

ANybody remember it? I searched but can't find the post.

I used to live down there, and that's news to me.

I know what you're talking about but also can't find it. Wasn't it near Newport Beach or something?

If it's a (private) beach community I don't blame them. They were probably sick of all the tourons (that's tourist + morons) rolling around on their beach cruisers. Just a possibility.

Are you maybe thinking of Los Altos (http://www.cyclelicio.us/2008/12/los-altos-hills-no-bikes-update.html) (Silicon Valley) up north?

Are you thinking about the proposed ban on PCH in Dana Point in 2006?

It was a public road.

Boy were we off. At least, that's the one I was thinking of. Thanks!

I remember reading about something in one of the forums about Palos Verde....
I don't know if it went through

Isn't it along the strand in Redondo Beach around the parking structure?

I don't know anything about these two. The Los Altos one was the one I was thinking about. If you have info on these two, send it forward. I'd be really interested.

The only thing I can think of in Palos Verdes there was signs on Palos Verdes Drive East that stated "not suitable for bicycles".

I can't think of a parking structure along the ocean. Only the parking at the pier which has "walk bikes" signs everwhere.

There's a sign on a blind curve on the Palos Verdes Switchbacks that says bike keep to the right. Shortly after passing it, another rider was passing me as some a-hole in a Mercedes convertible drove by yelling "SINGLE FILE".

I have had the least problems riding in PV. I don't remember ever getting yelled or even honked at, but there are those few drivers who think they own the roads.

I do think the sign says "Slow bike keep to the right". I was wondering if then if fast bikes can stay to the left?:)
