Up here in the Great White North, winter is reticent to leave, with snow flurries and cold temperatures this week reminding us it's only March!
Yet, in Victoria -- the California of Canada -- we know the blossoms will bloom in a couple of weeks and it's time to start the randonneuring season.
As usual, the first event on the calendar (besides the New Years' Populaire) is Vancouver Island's Victoria Populaire (http://www.randonneurs.bc.ca/victoria-populaire.html) -- this year with it's very own dedicated pin!
After that, the next weekend, comes the Pacific Populaire (http://www.randonneurs.bc.ca/pacpop/index.html), on the Mainland/Vancouver.
This is the 24th year for these events.
Beginning April 11th, the official series begin, with The Tour of the Cowichan Valley 200, on Vancouver Island -- which also forms the first event of Eau de Hell Week (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=514483) and the Mainland 200, the following week.
