Hi All,
I have a replacement front derailleur (changing from Sora to 105). I've seen a few DIYs on the internet and it seems pretty easy. However, none of the DIY's specify whether I need to shift to the smallest or largest (of triple crankset) before I start. Does it even matter?
Thanks in advance.

I tried to get you a link to Bicycle Tutor (google) also. It's down right now. Look for it and find the video on front-derailleurs. By the way - you want to be in the small chainring.

You want to be in the small(est) chainring and be certain the shifter is also set for the small(est) chainring.
Yeah, flip the smaller shift lever several times and pull all of the slack out of the cable before attaching to the derailleur. Set the low limit screw before attaching the cable.
