General Cycling Discussion - Happy Birthday JonR

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
If tomorrow is as gorgeous as today was I'll be out riding, so I wanted to be the first to wish you a Happy Birthday.
Hope your day is as awesome as ours is supposed to be.
Gee, 62! Now you can start collecting some of your hard-earned Social Security benefits. ;)
No sense in letting Uncle Sam keep it all!

Happy Birthday, Jon!!! :fun:
It's going to be a great day out there, so you make sure you go for a ride down to the Market (isn't that where you eat lunch?)
Yesterdays high in Iowa City was 62 degrees. That is 30 degrees above normal. I know it can only be nicer in Kansas City, so you have yourself a great time, Jon.
Happy Birthday Jon!
Treat yourself to a great day.

Happy Birthday, Jon! We're at the age where we might as well enjoy them, after all, consider the alternative. Have a great day!
Opps,
Sorry I missed this Jon! Hope you had a good un, and many many more to come!!!!

Happy (belated) Birthday Jon!!!
(I will be late for my own funeral!)
Many blessings on this year for you.
Thanks, everybody. My birthday kinda came and went unnoticed except for you all and a couple of others. But in a true spirit of belatedness I betook myself to the grocery store just now and purchased a PINEAPPLE-ORANGE cake and SEVENTY-TWO little candles (blue and white) (there will be ten left over) and some CAKE DECORATING GEL (red!) and tomorrow (to be consistently belated) I intend to observe my day properly, if I can figure out a safe environment for that many flames.
As for Social Security, it can't come a moment too soon. The first payment is supposed to be direct-deposited on March 28.
Got to get back to riding more this year. I don't guess I'd better make a birthday resolution any more than a New Year's one, but that would be a good one if I did make them.
Anyway, thanks again!

Enjoy your day Jon. And keep the fire extinguisher handy!:D
I'd ask for a piece of cake, but I'm trying to drop a few lbs. My family's making me take them to the beach this summer and I don't want to look like a tub-o'-goo.

Happy Day-After-Your Birthday Jon!
(Wow...just an hour left before Two-Days-After-Your Birthday! I am really getting this in by the skin of my teeth (whatever that means)! At least we're in the same time zone...)
Best wishes on your birthday (yesterday), the day I got around to acknowledging it (today), and the day you plan to observe it (tomorrow)!
(Hmm...three days with one 'wish for the best'. Is that allowed?)

Good advice, DG. I called it quits after lighting twelve candles: see below:

Word to the wise(r): if you insist on that many candles, start lighting them from the inside.
Cake sure is tasty, though.:D
Happy Birthday, Jon R.
With my birthday, 26 August, I never know whether cyclists are celebrating for me or (I suspect) for the late Tullio Campagnolo.
I 'ope you 'ad yerself real shin dig JonR.

Great looking cake, Jon! I don't think you ever had a chance with 62 candles. :p I am sure the first lit would have burned out long before the last one was lit.
Did you save me a piece? I'd like a scoop of vanilla on the side, too.

Steele-Bike, somewhere in there is a metaphor of my life.
