Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Have had this brown monster in the kitchen, waiting for me to get around to messing with it. Well, was so enthused by my success with the Motobecane, I got started on the Collegiate, and have it running as a single speed. It's a fun ride, not one I'd commute on, but a nice around towner thing.
I was actually seeing how many bikes I have that I could give a friend. He runs a 1/2-way house for adolescent males, I have 14 bikes, and live in a bike shop, so I was thinning the herd.

Don't the old Schwinns stir the memories? I found a like new, 1969, "Green Monster" Suburban with Sturmey Archer 3 speed at our local good will for $9.95 & bought it on the spot because I had only seen ten speed Suburbans before. I rode it for a Winter rain bike on my commute for a while then gave it to my Grand sons who are passing it down from brother to brother as they outgrow it (all 4 of them will likely be quite a bit taller than grandad). Odd thing was I tended to make faster commute times with this bike. Perhaps because of the longer gearing on the hills I was forced to work harder & ride up a bit faster. Don
