We heard rumors that Santana/Shimano is no longer selling the sweet 16 wheel set. Are those rumors true?

I've got a note into Steve / Bill and will advise if I hear back.

Here's the straight scoop...
The Sweet 16's have been unavailable due to a back order situation. They have now received one of their shipments which will be used to satisfy OEM specs on new production Santana's Team grade tandems.
Upgrade / retail aftermarket availability will be TBD until other outstanding orders for the wheels from Shimano are received.

I called Santana on Monday to inquire about purchasing some Sweet Sixteens. I was told that they were only available on new bikes. I asked when they would be available to purchase "after market" and was told "maybe never." That wasn't the answer I was looking for. I wanted some sort of time line but they couldn't say if they would ever be available again.
