Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If we're in a recession why the hell are so many people traveling by air. I had to fly to Nashville this morning and man was it crazy. On a positive note I'm flying back in about an hour. Get home at 1. Spend the remainder of the day on the bike.

Air traffic is only down 10-15% over a year ago. 85% of bat$4it insane is still pretty insane.
The fun part is, the recently high fuel prices and reduced passenger counts despite constant infrastructure costs means the airlines are trying to cut costs by flying fewer planes with more passengers. They're averaging 75% full. I think the last half dozen flights I've been on have varied between 90% and 100% full...I definitely haven't had the shoulder-room bonus of an empty seat next to me recently.

I've been wondering along the same line when we go to a restaurant on Saturday night and the place is absolutely packed. At 5:30 PM!

..or when you go out on Sunday and the malls are jam packed. Not to forget traffic jams on Sunday.
