Doing my first Criterium this weekend. Its right in my neighborhood. Im in solid shape, ride a lot, just no racing experience. So the citzen cat, sounds perfect for me. Do I need to have fluids with me during the 30 minute hammer? Or just fuel up before hand? Also, what to eat and what to stay away from in the morning. Im thinking like maybe a p&j sandwich, banana and fluids - hit the race an hour later. Any other tips? Should I bring a second set of rims? What really is the point of the second set, if you flat on the opposite side of the course from where your wheels are placed?

no need for more rims, becuase if you flat, its practicly over. I'm one for something small to eat if its an early crit (7am or so) if its later, give yourself time to digest. And you may as well take a water bottle during the race.

thats my .02
GOOD LUCK!
