Looking to see if anyone has any experience going clipless on their duty rig. I've seen a couple MB specific clipless that look like they would still work well for on-duty use....Any thoughts?

FWIW the London BoB (bobbys on bikes) seem to use platforms as a matter of course.
No idea what the London ambulance paramedics on bikes use though.

I wouldn't because what if you can't get off fast enough under stress. What do you do when you're off the bike and someone runs or fights?
I'd wear a good pair of shoes and a decent set of platform pedals. I use some wide aggressive azonic pedals for riding and a pair of welgo platforms ($18) for bike patrol.

I work as a full time bike officer in Washington state. Everyone on our team goes clipless. Once you get comfortable/familiar with the clipless, they're better than using a platform. You can get more power from pulling up with the foot, instead of just pushing down. We don't stay on our bikes when contacting subjects, we place the bike in between us and them. If they start running, if you can't catch them on your bike, you should probably get a new job, or train harder.
The only thing I've found with the clipless, is sometimes the cleat will cause slippage on a smooth floor. I've almost done the splits while talking with people inside buildings. I just focus now on keeping my weight back more towards the heels on slick floors.
