Hi,

You can generally trust any specialized bike shop in the Montreal area to do a good job at assembling a wheel for around $25-30 plus parts.

A friend cyclist recommends Yves at Vél'aube, corner of Delormiers and Des Carrières.

The team at Techno-Cycle at Local 148, 4710 Saint-Ambroise (on the Lachine Canal) is also pretty good. Most of the staff were at one time or another tech reps for the big parts manufacturers. They teach a course on wheel assembly if you're ever interested in learning the tricks of the trade.

On the South Shore, Primeau Vélo on Taschereau boulevard (not sure if that part is in Brossard or Greenfield Park) are pretty good. They have high parts volume purchase power, so you can get parts at some of the best prices I've seen in the Montreal area. I always got my parts from them.

Cheers,
Ron

Greetings Ron, Thanks for all the details! I might check out Primeau, I remember buying a bike there when I was a kid.

As for the wheelbuilding course, perhaps in the future for my next builds.

Le Grand Cycle is my favorite bike shop in Montreal, I had several wheels built.
The shop is great and the crew is hard to beat.
