Winds are extremely strong and gusty here. Out at Chatfield reservoir, the winds were so strong that I was going 6 mph, in lowest granny going downhill peddling madly.
And, they were so gusty and variable that there was only one section of about 5 miles when they were truly helpful. Almost got blown off of the road!
But, it was FUN! I liken winds to climbing training. They are great training, and oh-so-nice when they stop.

The wind has been fun in Denver yesterday and today! My commute is due south, so the wind this morning was blowing straight into me. It was one of my slowest commutes ever... I gotta get out of here this afternoon before they decide to switch around and come out of the north!
I keep telling myself that hills are my friend. I'm almost convinced about that one.
Wind I'm not so sure about. At least the hills usually have a visible end... :D

Amen.
I'd rather climb any mountain than spend an afternoon riding into the wind. It's completely demoralizing.

Well, it must have turned again. I had an awesome tailwind from the south/southwest. Made it home in 35 minutes, which is quite a bit faster than my 55 minute ride in to work this morning!

I have truely learned to love the wind. The trick is to start out into it, ride till exhausted, then turn around and let it blow ya home. :D

The wind is not your friend or your enemy. The wind only IS.
Deep philisophical comment for the day.
