there were thing i loved about boston and things i hated...the way i look at it, the things i loved outweighed the things i hated. riding there was usually pretty fun. plus i had friends there.
well it's not really the town initself. it's the damn city officials and all the crap they pull on the cyclists. This town is so backwards with it's lack of thinking about them.

actually you were/are friends with my ex...small world eah. hah
I love riding this town, I know all the ins and outs of the traffic here. It's an amazing amount of fun to be able to ride through here and just know whats going to pop up next. Ahhhhhhhh the force. Jedi fixed rider. Sorry I am rambling way off topic and have ventured into my subconcious.

Its ok, I mostly now ride in Somerville and Cambridge due to work and where I live now... but I used to commute everyday from Back Bay (Clarendon and Beacon) to work in Allston then in Watertown - which was nice. I had less problems with drivers there than in Somerville and Cambridge. Anyway, I kinda like the dense traffic and knowing all the ins and outs. Though, I would like to try a new city so I have some perspective.

When I rented a car to explore Boston I hated it.
When I walked and took the "T" to explore Boston I loved it.
I've never ridden there, but the idea would scare me.

No problem. We'll come down and light the river on fire so you can find your way home after 2 Mooseheads and getting jerseyed. Could be worse, could be a Cubbie fan...

Now THAT'S original. The one thing I hate about being from Chicago is the question: So, you a Cubs or a Sox fan?
I don't really care. Baseball is pretty meaningless to me.
I prefer watching EPL or MLS with a beer and friends.

Yes, yes. Baseball is just far to boring to watch.

Riding in Boston is not scary at all and it definitely is the best way to get around the city.

Exactly. After my year at BU in the early '90s I never felt safe on those streets. And I never felt that anybody in that town gave a damn. And probably still don't.
God, I LOVE Boston. :D

i like boston a lot.. and it's true.. 15 minutes to just about anywhere. it might take me 20-30 to get to the north end.. MAYBE. this city is VERY rideable.

You have friends? Can other people see them too, or are you the only one?

Have you ever noticed the pothole on Centre St. that looks like a small child could fall down it and never get out? That thing nearly killed me the other night. It seriously has to be the worst pothole I've ever seen.

Yep. That happened to me about three weeks ago. I was going around a double parked car and had to cross over the tracks which was fine. Some a-hole who was going way too fast refused to cross the center line or slow down and came within an inch of hitting me so I leaned hard back to the right to save myself from getting killed. I hit the track almost flush and my front wheel got wedged. I landed a good 4 feet from my bike and got broken glass in my hand. The jerk didn't even stop. God bless JP.

i almost got hit by a bagel delivery truck one night about 2 months ago on center st down by new washington. Hit the tracks, endoed and broke my digital camera (it was in my jacket pocket). $400 down the drain. the intersection at new washington can be intense durring rush hour.
