How many of you have run 9 sp derailleurs/cranks with a 10 sp cassette shifter? I know you need a 10 sp chain but what else is needed for a conversion from 9 to 10?

That's all you need (and the 10s cassette obviously). My son's bike has been running this way for a while. It had 9s Chorus and we simply added 10s Centaur ergo shifters and a 10s Wippermann chain, along with any one of my 10s wheels.

Early 9-speed Campy derailleurs are not compatible with late 9-speed or 10-speed shifters because of a change in throw ratios that occurred in 2001. I don't know how to tell the differences though. Do you know the model year of your derailleurs?

The way to tell the difference is with the "B" screw. Older RDs had the B screw in plain sight at the back of the RD, while the newer ones have the screw tucked up under the main pivot, where it's difficult to tell that there even is one.
I've never checked the difference in the actuation ratio, but some people do claim that the mismatched RD and shift still work OK.
In the case of the new 11 speed, I've already tested a minor change to the clamp bolt on a 10 speed RD to increase the travel, so it works fine with an 11 speed shifter.
