In fact, Japanese robot researcher Masahiro Mori noticed this in 1970 and he called it the "uncanny valley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_Valley)":

The uncanny valley is a hypothesis that when robots and other facsimiles of humans look and act almost like actual humans, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers. The "valley" in question is a dip in a proposed graph of the positivity of human reaction as a function of a robot's lifelikeness.

That was amazing. Hilarious, they programmed "her" to not take any sexual harrassment from the perv scientists!

I think I have enough experience with robotics to make this happen.

Why can't I believe this stuff is actually happening and real?
YouTube - Eva the female robot

And wtf is up with this:

This stuff has been around since about 2-3 years ago and I'm starting to find out about it now. Robots are a big step especially ones like these you would think it would have more media.

Creepy? yes. She's gonna be a teacher? Do you think the kids will need therapy later in life?

Maybe by then the therapists will be bots too..... and they just wont see what the problem is.

I see it like this...if they become teachers they have to lay down the law, and doing so involves anger and being a robot means they have the possiblity of malfunction and bugs so, we all are gonna die. Not really, but I see robots for no positive gain.

The unemployment rate would rise for teachers and therapists, at the very least.

Well they're finally here. Human reproduction rates may soon plunge. When a male version of this comes out, human reproduction will grind to a halt. :p
