One of my neighbors tossed out an old bike a few weeks ago. I was thinking about building it into a ss/fg and selling it but I don't have the time right now. It was pretty gross from years of neglect and to be honest, it still needs some work not to be gross. It's a "Roddy" (I hadn't heard of it either) and has a 56 cm top tube. She's definitely not the prettiest but she may have some potential. I figured I would give you BF'ers first dibs before posting it on craigslist.

You might want to post this in the Classic and Vintage area.

Maybe, but I don't really want to ship it.

I am tempted, but I don't think it will fit me. I had been considering a bike to keep on a trainer so I don't have to use my carbon bike on it, but I ride a 60 CM. Do you think I could put a longer stem on it?

Maybe but it would probably be a pain to find the part. It has the old goose-neck style.

We have a winner!!! Thanks for the comments folks, I'm glad this thing isn't on it's way to a landfill.

Thanks CJbruin!

I have a 2-speed kickback hub that is going to get put into service. Time to learn to build wheels. This will be a beach / bar hopper bike with an artistic rattlecan paint job

Haven't found out anything about Roddy bikes. Looks to be a typical bike boom low-end unit. Perfect for my purpose.
