Fellas, I have had a poor winter of fitness I need to drop 10-15lbs, I rode very little and ran less. I wanted to do a race in late April early may.....Will it be enough time. or will I be a mess. Can I regain enough fitness. I race about 4 times a year.
I vote mess but I really don't know you, so I can't really say. How did you do in the 4 races that you did? How much training did you do for those?

im in a similar boat. i did nothing done this winter and found a hair up my butt that told me i want to race again...after 18 years.
its been 4 short weeks of spin classes and theres a crit next weekend. i figure ill get dropped for my first 8 crash 5 races and them maybe hang for 2 before im forced up into the 4s.
this isnt the right way to go about it, but its the best i can do on short notice.

once the weather gets a shade warmer, the road miles will start to happen, but itll still be just crits...and maybe a couple of tts..and maybe a road race, depending on how stupid i feel that day
i figure the best training is racing, since i have no one, with whom to ride.
