HI, i was going to get a track frame set and it comes with an aluminum straight fork but i can upgrade to a carbon one. i ride a steel frame now and have no experience with an aluminum frame. i live i the city in Houston TX and roads are... well.. questionable so yeah. also, i dont do tricks or anything just kinda like going fast. ADVICE!
Well, a lot of people here think that aluminum (fork especialy) are lame.
I had a track bike with a steel frame and an aluminum fork and I have to say that it was alright.
The only problem is that I had aluminum fork with aluminum straight bars and my elbows were hurting after medium to long rides. So I would say go for the carbon if you plan on doing long rides on this bike.
What is the price difference between the two? Is the aluminum fork threaded?

If you're not doing tricks, I'd go carbon.

Go carbon. Aluminum is not a common material for forks for a reason.
