Don't know anything about red, but I DO know something about flats...and how to avoid them. Schwalbe Marathon Plus in 25mm. 35.00 @ www.biketiresdirect.com I've got 3 sets. Zero flats. Black w/a reflective strip. Ignore the naysayers of 'they're heavy' or 'they roll like tractor treads' ilk. I USED to use Nu-Teck airless, so I'm well aquainted w/rolling resistance, too. I've got a set on an Alex deep-V...they're a B***H to mount...you'll need the Kool-Stop tire lever to avoid foul language and pinch flats, but for 11.00US it's WAY worth it. Trust me. Gatorskins, Armadillos? I don't have any experience with them, so I can't comment. Others will weigh in, I'm sure. I'll just slip into my flame-resistant suit...:p

While the Marathon Plus is extremely flat resistant they also are extremely heavy, ride like bricks, and are quite slick in the rain. I've found that both the Conti Gatorskin and 4 Seasons with Vectran are extremely flat resistant as well, but ride much, much, better than the Marathon Plus.

I rode these for a month or two, got a big gash in one from a piece of glass, and the sidewalls split on both of them. The ride was good though.

if you skid, 28c gatorskin in the front, 28c rando in the back. other wise, get two gatorskins. Run the biggest tires you can fit, and be vigilant about keeping your tire pressure up to where it needs to be.
yea i guess im going to look into the the tserv or the gator skins. are armadillos just as good as the gators?
also i got deep v's on a kilo tt. anyone know the biggest size i can go?
