Hello,

How would you attach both rack and fenders if there's only one set of braze ons? I'd like to add rack and fenders to my 2004 poprad.

Thanks.

I don't know about your bike exactly, but on mine (had a rack when I got it) I just stuck the fender stays on the interior side of the eyelet, and left the fender on the outside. May have to get a longer bolt with a short head on it and have the nut on the outside to avoid the chain depending on the clearance you have back there, but I suspect you can do the same thing I did.

Keep the rack next to the frame, with the fender outside (less stress on the bolt). Use a stainless steel allen bolt. With a good threaded eyelet, you dont need a bolt, so the nut can lie flush on the inside of the drobout (where chain clearance is tight).
I carry heavy loads on such a setup.

Rack first, then fender strut.
Stainless bolt with a bit of blue loc-tite.
No problem.

I have a LeMond set up this very way and have had no problem. I've not had to use Loctite, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt...well, as long the extra, super-duper, can't get it off without a torch and crowbar stuff isn't used.
