to keep my eye out for a good used road bike? I used Ridemonkey.com in the past for my MTBing needs but can't seem to find anything for used road bikes/frames/components, etc...

I'm hoping (as we all are) to find a good road frame/bike that was purchased as a wrong size or from someone that doesn't like their new purchase.

Thanks in advance!

www.roadbikereview.com has a good classified section. I bought a gorgeous 6 year old, never been ridden, Lemond Maillot Jaune frame from somebody there. Great deal.

Here are the best

rec.bicycles.marketplace or Cycling Forumns at <http://www.cyclingforums.com/classifieds>

Marketplace tends to be a lot of underground shops selling cheap as they are not allowed to sell post cheap prices online. Also many long time riders getting rid of stuff.

craigslist is great, and everyone knows ebay. the secrect is to be patient. you can't beat the volume of bikes that get listed there. I got my latest ride on ebay...scandium salsa frame, fork, headset, stem, handlebar, and seatpost for $405. The frame has carbon seatstays, breakaway derailluer hanger, bla, bla... and a cool black and red paint job.

I have a single shortcut ro bring up every location of craiglist in the US (bicycle) so I am on top of that. eBay seems to be overpriced as everyone jacks up the prices (knowing that people pay). But you are correct, patience is key!
