Foo - Is anybody watching LOST?

I haven't had time to watch season 5. I was hoping to catch up with this season by watching online, but it looks like ABC doesn't offer episodes 1-4. Can someone explain why Jin, Charlotte, Sawyer, Julia, etc. are having time flashes?

The first season of Lost was excellent. It should have ended then (or at least after two seasons), though. Some shows need a finite ending to work toward, and Lost would have been well served by such a limitation.

Okay wtf? John locke just came back to life for what seemed like the 3rd or 4th time.

Lost lost me after the 3rd season.

I didn't even start watching until this season, and now I am hooked... Maybe it was an advantage to miss 4 seasons.

I am watching old shows as the DVR catches them (they are aired on the weekend) and I find that I lose nothing by watching them out of order.

But, even as someone watching it as a newbie... was anyone really surprised to see John Locke was alive? I wasn't. I sort of expected it... Other things have surprised me more.

The main thing that confuses me, in both the old and new episodes is trying to figure out who the "Others" are... are they the ones who were referred to in early episodes as the Hostiles?

That, and what was the true objective of the Dharma initiative? I know they were some sort of scientific research group, but there is just so much strangeness about the research...

Lost is going the route of Alias... twists and turns.. to complete confusion. Don't get me wrong, I'm hooked, but I'm also hooked and annoyed. The fact that there is that element of time travel means that the writers have free reign to pretty much do anything...so john being dead or alive...broken leg..bullet in his belly.. able to walk..etc.. doesn't surprise me.

I watched Lost over 40 years ago. Back then they had a professor that got Gilligan out of all his jams.

When Ben moved the Island last season, it seems he left it in an inconsistent state. Therefore, its jumping around in time. Those flashes are the island jumping, and the longer one has been on the Island, the worse the effects of the 'flashes' (brain damage, hence the nose-bleeds)

I see Lost cast members all the time around here... two weeks ago Matthew Fox tried to steal my sandwich from a local shop because we share the same first name... this weekend I had breakfast next to Jorge Garcia. Hard to keep watching the show... but I am sticking with it out of stubbornness.

you know in person he didnt look nearly as big.. still a large guy.. but not HUGE like he looks on the show.. and fox was wearing calf high white sox and black tennis shoes... talk about a Hawaii fashion faux pas

So if you guys knew you were going to the island, would you wear your best outdoor gear, bring some knives, weapons or just wear a damn suit like Jack? ...same question could be asked of the cast members on survivor.
