By that logic Juan P. is fired g. You may want to rethink that. I like a cool movie scene as much as the next guy, but if that A. Baldwin character from Glengarry Glenross is a hero for you, we have to get you back into therapy.

And you were doing so well.

It took about two hours before I put all this together. Talk about slow.

You mean in the overall standings? Hey, wouldn't it be cool if you won a Cadillac?

gsteinb
03-15-09, 03:13 PM
Well at least in the standings in the masters. It's possible, I suppose, I'm first overall but with the way they update the standings no way to know that until next Sunday.

Our current culture is a sad testimony. Haven't you noticed the shift toward the tickle up culture. Meat eaters are vilified. Keep eating the meat gsteinb. We need more brass balls in this country.

It is also a sad testament on our culture that a great playwright has to write screenplays to make a decent $.

One of my favorite movies, nevertheless.

I wish I could do this story justice....

I had an email interchange with an exgirlfriend the other day. She's a vegan. Somewhere along the line I wrote about my hernia, to which she responded that "she hopes I'm ok." Being a total a-hole
I wrote something along the lines of "I know you're not crazy about me, but I'd hope so." She pointed out that I wasn't very nice, to which I responded "No worries, I'm just kidding. I know I'm made out of meat." I'm sure I "butchered" that.

I know.

But he still has to write screenplays to pay the bills.

Sad.

That's Pablo in the 5 race. He looks like he's about 14 years old. And he's placing in the top 5 each week. He's going to be kicking ass and taking names. I'd tell you his real name, but then of course I would have to kill you. His dog's name is Pablo. You've heard of Pavlov's Dog? Well this kid is Pablo's Human.

I jokingly punched him in the chest and told him to kick ass. I may have left a hole.

You should go easy on the 'jokingly punched him in the chest' stuff g. You don't know your own strength. That last time you gave me an attaboy pat on the back you almost knocked me over.

I'm an a-hole most of the time, but when it's race time I'm business. Which usually means getting in people's heads by being an a-hole. 20 years of Zen have served me well. :innocent:

Pablo.

Juan's son and I have a master plan for next week's race. It will be a good time.

Perfect!

That's a perk I enjoy by not being fast - nobody bothers to try and get in my head. They just offer me food to keep me out of the way.

Kid, if you're placing in the 5 races @ age 16, we're all in Big Trouble. I think it's in our interests to have you disappear well before your 18th birthday. I'll try to arrange for that.

And no, you cannot date my daughter. Unless you can show me proof of a net worth of at least $5 million, then we can talk.

Do you want your daughter dating a bad-ass cyclist, or some Wall Street dude? I worked on Wall Street dude back in the day, and I'd never let my daughter within 10 feet of those guys I hung around with. Would you?

Here's how I'd approach it: strap a heart rate monitor on him with a Garmin 305 in her purse during the date. After reviewing his performance profile at the end of the evening, if they ventured outside of the agreed upon area, ground your daughter and saw his bike in half. If his HR got above 95 - shoot him. At least you'll have given him a chance. ;)
