Introductions - Howdy Y'all!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Wow! Is your bike still the same one as back in 1951, or did you get yourself something slightly newer?

Welcome Patrick to BF. I see you're 71. I'm just a kid of 64. :o
My youngest was born in Mobile. Great town. Haven't been there since 1983. Has it changed much?

Have no idea what ever happened to that Schwinn w/fork spring, horn, and "V" handlebars, but know that Mama and Daddy really had to scrape the $ to get it that Christmas. :) My SIL gave me a 1996 Schwinn MTB Sidewinder that he only rode about 10 miles then hung it up in the storage building. Just like new and tires haven't leaked down at all after airing up. Have really enjoyed just riding around the neighborhood and having people "stare" and me going down the road. Life is good! ;)

Yo Ron! If you haven't seen it since '83 I can assure you it is not recognizable now. 26 years and a lot of growth, especially to the West is like a new Mobile. Was born and raised here, stayed until going into the Navy and came back to stay. :)
When I lived there I lived in Tillman's Corner. Is that in the area with all the growth? My oldest boys went to St. Elmo middle school? or was it St. Elmo high school?

Yes Ron, its still there. The mayor has tried at least twice to annex it into the city, but folks out there wouldn't vote it in. Mayor looking for additional tax revenue but doesn't look like its gonna happen anytime soon. I-10 has an exit there to get off, so if you ever come back, won't be hard to find! ;)
